Conference at Paris Business School
The warming of relations between France and Iran, along with the visit of the Iranian president, led to the signing of contract projects between the two countries.
Yet many obstacles remain, and on the human rights front, no promising sign of reform is on the horizon.
This conference took place on 9 February 2016 at PSB Paris School of Business and brought together several speakers:
Frédéric Encel, professor at ESG Management School and lecturer at Sciences Po, addressed the question of whether Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is truly a moderate.
Gérard Vespierre, founding partner of Strategic Conseils and research associate at the Foundation for Middle East Studies, addressed the economic question: “Is Iran really an El Dorado for French companies?”
Jean-Sylvestre Mongrenier, researcher at the French Institute of Geopolitics (Paris VIII Vincennes-Saint-Denis University) and research associate at the Institut Thomas More, addressed the game of deception underlying the agreements with Iran.
Nader Nouri, former Iranian diplomat and Secretary General of FEMO, for his part shed light on the parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections in Iran, what is at stake, and the particular context in which they are taking place.
